Gen. Wheeler at Camp Wikoff
From the Library of Congress, this 1903 film entitled "Gen. Wheeler and Secretary of War Russell A. Alger at Camp Wikoff" was made by the American Mutoscope and Biograph Company.
Notes from the Library of Congress: "This picture was taken in front of Gen. Wheeler's headquarters at Camp Wikoff during Gen. Alger's tour of inspection of the camp. The two distinguished military men are seen overlooking the immense camp ground, and then turning and walking toward the camera. The negative is very fine photographically, and the portraiture unexcelled."
Camp Wikoff was located east of Montauk, New York and is where Theodore Roosevelt and his Rough Riders were quarantined after returning from the Spanish-American War in 1898.
