The Main structure of the two primary dwellings at Pond Spring is known to most as the Wheeler Home.  This building was built under Joseph Wheeler's direction during the early 1870's.  Both this, and the Sherrod Home (1830's) were used by the growing Wheeler family.  The Sherrod Home is used as a residence to the present day.  Restoration on the primary home has begun, and construction continues; however, recent State budget pressures have slowed progress.  It is hoped that individual and corporate donations can help to bridge this temprorary shortfall so that the structures can be safeguarded at an increased pace.
